Célestins - Theatre and car park

This prestigious Italianate theatre, built in 1877 by Gaspard André and reconstructed in 1880 according to the original plans following a fire, is one of the most frequented in Europe, with 50,000 season ticket holders and 250,000 theatre-goers each year.
The refurbished Place des Célestins (1994) hides Lyon's most spectacular underground car park built in the form of a hollow tower, designed by Michel Targe and enlivened by a work by Daniel Buren.
